Fall 2023 TXPOP Newsletter

As we approach the end of the federal grant that allowed us to create and launch the TXPOP Practice Model, Child Welfare Academy, and Compassionate Caregivers campaign, we’d like to thank the people and organizations that accompanied us on this journey.

Our Local Advisory Group meetings in regions 6 and 11 have ended. We are incredibly grateful to the professionals, parents, and youth, who participated in those meetings and contributed to the success of implementing TXPOP in their area. We will continue to meet with the region 2 Local Advisory Group until September of 2024.

Our pilot site partners—Monarch, 2INgage, and Giocosa—collaborated with us to test the practice model and informed its development and implementation. They worked closely with us through every phase of the project and we value the meaningful relationships we have built with agency leaders, practitioners, and caregivers. We’re thankful for the support of our partners in developing and implementing the practice model!

We’re committed to making the work of TXPOP available to a growing number of professionals in the child welfare space. We’ve formed a partnership with the Heart Galleries of Texas to explore how to use the TXPOP tools to support adoptive families and improve permanency outcomes for children. In addition, we’re looking to partner with organizations across the state interested in learning how the TXPOP values, core components, and model tools can increase positive permanency and children’s sense of belonging.

Our online courses for the Child Welfare Academy closed September 29, 2023, and will be relaunching in 2024 along with in-person trainings.

The Compassionate Caregivers campaign content will remain available on our website and free for anyone to use.

Feel free to contact us in the interim if you have questions or ideas of people and/or organizations that might like to learn more about our work!
